LCI Consultants are working alongside The University of Sydney on the Ross St, Teaching and Learning Hub project. Due to the growth of Equivalent full-time student load over 2019-2022, coupled with the change in curriculum and pedagogy, there is an increased demand for large flat floor learning spaces.
The Ross St Teaching and Learning Hub is a new building designed to accommodate large flat floor teaching spaces and be the learning hub to educate the educators, as they transition to teaching in more flexible, collaborative, and larger scale spaces.
The new A01 Learning Hub will provide over 2,500 square meters of Formal Learning Space. It will be General Teaching Space (GTS) under Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), with no Faculty or specialised teaching space. The A01 project will also address a portion of the shortfall of informal learning space required across campus with over 1,200 square meters of new informal space provided under this project.
The project will be providing Food and Beverage (F&B) services to support the increased student and staff population the Project creates and address the shortfall of 1-2 F&B tenancies in the Camperdown East Precinct.
The team have encountered a range of challenges that demanded innovative solutions:
- Smoke Exhaust Systems and Central Atrium Design
- Incorporation of AV for Teaching
- Design of Solar PV System for Green Star & Energy Saving
LCI is currently providing mechanical, electrical, ASP3, communications, security and lighting design engineering services.
